Long Case Regulator by Alfred Porter Hartley Row. This clock was used for regulating clocks and watches under repair until the late 1940s, when it was superseded by an electric pendulum clock and then by a quarz crystal timepiece. (Mark Porter) Silver Pair cased Pocket Watch inscribed on movement "Mark Porter Oakingham,No. 1400. The case is hallmarked London 1807. A George IV gentleman's silver cased open faced pocket watch by S. & J. Porter, Oakingham, No. 7281, the silvered dial with raised gilt Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, contained in engine turned silver case, 2" diameter, case hallmarked London 1825. This watch was sold at auction in Canterbury in 2011 as part of a lot of 2 pocket watches for £230. Full Faced 18ct Gold Pocket watch. Hallmarked London 1883 Inscription on movement reads " Alfred Porter High Street Hartley Wintney" (John Porter) Samuel Porter Magnetic Sundial. 3 Samuel Porter Magnetic Sundials. 1.  A miniature dry-card magnetic compass sundial,  signed on the card dial S. Porter Fecit, with steel gnomon, eight points of the compass, north as a fleur-de-lys, and hours VII-I, XII-IIII, with the figure of Old Father Time at South, on a steel pin in a turned ivory box with threaded domed lid -- 2in. (5.2cm.) diameter Sold at Christies £118 December 2001.  2.  English, dated 1824, with printed compass/hours card, fixed gnomon and turned wood case and cover with maker's label in lid, 2 1/4 in. diamnglish, dated 1824, with printed compass/hours card, fixed gnomon and turned wood case and cover with maker's label in lid, 2 1/4 in dia. Edison Gallery Chicago USA sold May 2004 $150.  3.  Magnetic Sundial in Ivory Case, Labe inscribed Porter's Magnetic Sun Dial. Entered in Stationer's Hall. (David Porter) A selection of Samuel Porter Magnetic Sundials.  1. The case is 2 ¼” in diameter and covered in burgundy leather with a brass latch.  The dial has roman numeral hour markings, as well as compass points.  The paper dial is also signed, “S. Porter, fecit”.Sold by ars machina.com  2. Magnetic Compass in wooden Case. Modelled as a fluted pedastal, with beaded and fluted ornament to the capital and plinth, with incised scales to the thermometer, the compass with paper-dial (lacking glass-cover), the underside applied with a paper label, inscribed 'Patronised by the KING, PORTER'S MAGNETIC SUNDIAL' and further inscribed 'Floating on an agate cap' 5 in.
